Semaine 48: JULIA JACKLIN - Pre Pleasure (2022)

 

Julia Jacklin est Australienne et Pre Pleasure est son 3eme album, le plus abouti à ce jour.
Oscillant entre rock (tendance PJ Harvey comme sur l'excellent Love, Try not to let go) et folk plus intimiste (le délicat Too In Love to Die), cet album peut paraitre anodin au début, mais discrètement, il s'incruste dans nos têtes, du fait de la qualité des chansons, des refrains et des arrangements, tout en subtilité.

Simple, efficace, Pre Pleasure est un album à l'ancienne, touchant et assez jouissif (la grosse guitare sur le tubesque et démentiel I was Neon est un plaisir régressif totalement fascinant).
Voix pure et refrain titanesque, parfois le rock devrait aussi simple que chez Julia Jacklin.

Tranquillement, sereinement, Pre Pleasure s'est fait une belle place dans ma discothèque 2022. Et dans 5 ans, lorsque je réécouterai cet album, je sais que j'aimerai toujours autant sa grande classe et ses mélodies imparables.
