Semaine 43: COSMO SHELDRAKE - The Much Much How How and I (2018)

Musicien anglais porté sur éclectisme, Cosmo Sheldrake sort un premier album à son image, le très dense The Much Much How How and I.

On sent que Cosmo Sheldrake est un boulimique de musique et que son rêve de fondre tout ce qu'il écoute dans une grande marmite lui tenait à cœur.

Du coup The Much Much How How and I est bourré ras la gueule de références aux musiques de films, à la musique classique, au folk et autres courants divers (électro, musique de cabaret, musique populaire et réaliste). Quitte à nous faire frôler l'indigestion tant parfois le pudding est calorique.

Du coup, je tiens Cosmo Sheldrake pour un cousin anglais de notre Chapelier Fou ou de Woodkid (flagrant sur Come Along). Parfois maladroit, mais toujours sincère, son album mérite une écoute attentive tant il fait figure d'ovni dans la production actuelle. Et donc d'être défendu, en attendant la suite qu'on espère plus épurée.
